Delivering our future vision

Assistant Director Economy and Place

£ Competitive

We’re using words such as original and surprising when describing our ambitious agenda for Shropshire.  This Assistant Director role is a key appointment to the team helping us to achieve our vision and to drive the organisation forward.

Our corporate strapline is ‘Innovate to Thrive’ and we need people with the drive, creativity, passion and ambition to ensure that we have the right plans, resources and processes in place to deliver them. If you are ‘can do’ and have an outcome focused approach carry on reading…

We are looking for a corporate player who can create energy around the wider place based agenda, and draw upon a strong track record of achievement, as well as working with and influencing the partnerships we have with the business, public, and voluntary and community sectors to bring partners and our communities with us on the journey and to ensure that our collective vision is realised.

You will be responsible for some key place services and a range of truly big and high-profile projects that will influence the county’s social and physical infrastructure.  This is a highly strategic role with a big focus on delivery. You will be responsible and accountable for the driving continuous improvement, performance management in your services and maximising opportunities for Shropshire across the county and surrounding areas.
